Honeymoon: Japan 2026
We are so excited to be starting this new chapter together, and one of our dreams is to celebrate our honeymoon in the beautiful country of Japan in 2026!
From the cherry blossoms of Kyoto to the bustling streets of Tokyo, we can’t wait to explore the culture, sights, and flavours that this incredible country has to offer. Instead of traditional gifts, we would be so grateful if you would help make this dream trip a reality.

OUR STORY
How we met
It was the first week of university, and we moving into the same corridor of campus housing. In the obvious way, we weren't looking for each other, but clearly there were other forces at work. We bonded over food (good food is always a way to attract Italians), movies, music. We felt like we had found a best friend...
And just like that, we wound up dating throughout our entire bachelors, masters and law school. We were there through the exams, the dissertations and the results!
We've moved from Warwick to Bristol and then finally out to Luxembourg just before Brexit hit, and that's when we finally started building our nest and getting ready for the next step...
The proposal
This was probably the longest con that Julian has ever run, complete with co-conspirators.
From getting Parnel's sister and godmother to trick her into trying on rings 'just to get a sense of her ring size and preference' to his parents for collecting the ring in the mail and sneaking it down to Italy, Julian had a network of assistants that helped made this proposal a magical memory.
We were awake at 6am, and Parnel was told to 'wear the good makeup because this lake is very instagrammable'. She did not find this suspicious at all - thank goodness for early morning hunger.
Lago di Brailles was beautiful! We caught it just before the sun had risen over the mountains and the waters really were that blue. Out on the lake, Julian requested Parnel to take some photos because 'she had the better camera'. Again, no suspicion.
When she turned around, there was the ring... and it was no question as to how she answered (actually he did have to confirm that she was saying yes and not just squealing)!
Our family now
In August 2024 we finally brought home our special fluffy boy: Appa.
We have been dreaming of our own dog for many years, and were overjoyed when we could finally make this a reality.
Appa has been a little bundle of joy since day one... and a little bundle of chaos. From rolling on his back to invite everyone to scratch his belly, to running after every leaf on a walk, Appa has kept his puppy parents on their toes and we're so excited to take him on adventures and create more memories!
